what is HRT

In simple terms, Hormone Replacement Therapy is the practice of replacing the hormones that are naturally lost through the ageing process. It is a practice that is
widely used in medicine for many other hormone related problems, such as diabetes, thyroid deficiency and abnormal growth in children, to mention just a few.

Female hormones not only control the reproductive part of a woman's life, they also boost the immune system and delay many of the medical problems associated with old age. A study in the US involving 50,000 older women found that replacement of these lost hormones can not only improve general health and mental alertness but also delay the onset of serious diseases associated with old age, such as heart attacks and even breast cancer.
